NEWS FROM THE GRAND CANYON, NEVADA

The Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (owned entirely by the Hualapai Tribe) is excited to announce the introduction of a new amenity to Grand Canyon West. An addition of an authentic Indian Village is currently under construction and is scheduled to open November 2004. The Village will consist of five smaller villages depicting not only the Hualapai Tribe but three other Arizona Tribes and Tipis that represent many Plains Indian Tribes. The dwellings will be built authentically by representatives of each Nation and each village will be rich with stories and displays. In the centre of all the villages will be an Amphitheatre, seating100 people, which will house daily Native American, primarily Hualapai, presentations and performances.

Grand Canyon West (GCW) has been in operation since 1988 but the past three years has shown dramatic growth. In 2003 alone, GCW has had over 220,000 visitors from around the world. Guadalajara-based Limousines de Guadalajara Vaca Meters has a acquired a stored B727 and transformed it into a state of the art vehicle, modifying the aircraft's fuselage and installing a six-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine in the back and air brakes and suspension.

The company has removed the aircraft's wings and has installed a new interior, with neon strobe lighting, a state-of-the-art video and music system plus a bar, a dance floor and beds.
The modified aircraft will be available for hire from early May, with prices for a three-hour journey expected to cost in the region of $1000.

A new portable Freedom Trail audio guide is now available for visitors to Boston. Boston’s Freedom Trail,toured by more than 2 million visitors a year, includes the 200-year-old USS Constitution ship, the Paul Revere House, the Old North Church and thirteen other historic sites along a 3.5 mile walking trail that is marked by a red brick line.
