BOOKS WORTH A LOOK

A great book for a journey and I dont just mean a motorcycle journey. Any journey, it is a good read on its own. There are lots of accounts of actual trips by riders of varying experience.

Its inspiring stuff that leaves you feeling, if they can do it, why not me?

Of course dreaming when awake can be dangerous and can lead to.... well its up to you to choose where, and this book will help you.

It is also a bit of the serious motorcyclist traveller's bible and it gives information on almost everything.

You name it, its there. Luggage, hard or soft? shipping bikes overseas, hiring abroad, insurance, visa nightmares, motorbike camping, tyres, bike preperation and maintenance and much more, including fun things like scorpion stings, spiders, snakes and diarrhoea.

The Adventure Motorcycling Handbook by Chris Scott is now in its 5th edition and available from http://www.adventure-motorcycling.com/ at £12.99

Earth Bound is a new and big book . It is from the Rough Guide people and contains more than 250 beautiful photographs, reproduced in full colour with captions and short essays from locally based correspondents.

There are GPS coordinates for the location of each image.
This could be fun to check out, but there is no guarantee that the three girls pictured by the sand dunes in Gran Canaria will still be there when I get to 27.745246, -15.566492

However since Rough Guides Ltd have hundreds of thousands of travel images in their collection it is no surprise that the best of them is pretty inspiring stuff.

If you dont have a travel destination in mind when you start the book, you will have a good few targeted before you reach the middle.

RRP £20.
