SUN WORSHIPPERS
GRABBED BY
THE BALEARICS

When it comes to getting your kit off and enjoying the sun in the Mediterranean the "Balearic Islands" have a lot to offer.

You can also count on some three-hundred days of sun per year.
.....
Just beyond the car park the large stylized painting of bodies on the sand leaves you in no doubt that clothes are not required. The beach stretches almost as far as you can see and people walk its length in their skin.

Mallorca Beaches.

Sparkling sea, sandy beaches, and an excellent climate what more could you ask for?
Well possibly a rental car to get you to a beach like "Es Trenc" in Mallorca

It is Mallorca's official naturist beach. The large car park can get quite busy, (especially on a Sunday,) so try to arrive early, pay the six euros and get as close to the front as you can before making your start the trek through the pine trees.

When I emerged from them it was as though I had been transported to the Caribbean.

A girl sat on the powdery sand gazing out to a white yacht that sat upon the bluest of seas.

We were in the midst of a bay that stretched around a 5km arc.

There were a couple of beach bars and at the second, beyond was the obvious nudists area,
I stocked up with water and returned for the odd break to enjoy squid and chips and an ice cool beer.

The sea was like a lake, very shallow for a long, long way and absolutely clear. You could say it was perfect for children of all ages.

The beach was backed by bushes and sandy paths, so if the heat got too intense there was some shelter, however if you do not intend to rent the sun beds and parasols provided I would recommend bringing a sun brolly.

To reach Es Trenc take the long and straight road to "Campos" and turn off at the signposts for Saint Jordi" and "Es Trenc."

Eventually you will you will be on a narrow and somewhat potholed road will meander the salt lakes and a small forest of ancient trees.

The beach is well worth the drive.

Ibiza Beaches

The Island of Ibiza has more than 18 kilometres of beaches and you can choose one according to what ever way the wind is blowing or what ever you want to do.

Boat hire is available almost anywhere and there are beaches of all sorts - family, sporting, solitary, wild, tranquil, with deep or shallow waters for children's bathing.

Playa Des Cavallet is popular. Situated on the south of the island about 9.5 km from Ibiza town it is Ibiza's official nudist beach.

Just beyond the car park the large stylized painting of bodies on the beach leaves you in no doubt that clothes are not required.

The beach stretches almost as far as you can see and people walk for most of the day in their skin.

A network of pine trees shelter paths lead to the salt pans and distant coves.

It is a rather magical place and the closest beach to the airport. So if you have a rental car to return and you want to squeeze every last moment of sun out of your vacation, Playa de Es Cavallet is certainly the place to be.

Nudist style beaches are dotted about the island and certainly topless is the norm on most.

For a spectacular and memorable view, check out the beach at Cala d'Hort. It offers magnificent sunsets and has a beautiful aspect looking out towards the island of "Es Vedra" which soars up to the sky like “Bali Hai” in film, South Pacific.

Menorca Beaches
-

The island of Menorca has beaches and lonely bays around a coastline of 216 kilometres. Son Bou Naturist beach is located about 400m to the west of the main Son Bou beach and car park. The first natural gap in the sand dunes signifies the start of the naturist area.
The beach itself is ideal for walking. Flip flops or similar are recommended and, although the sea is normally gentle, it can be rough there and when it is there is a strong undertow so look towards the lifeguard station for the flags.

Formentera Beaches

Formentera is the smallest of the Spanish islands in the Mediterranean but when it comes to shedding clothes it leaves Mallorca , Menorca and Ibiza in the shade.

Come the summer, six million tourists flock to the Balearic group and many of the nudists fly into Ibiza and take the ferry ride to La Sabina in Formentera.

This little port has an almost ‘North African’ feel to it. How ever once you have hired your bike and pedalled round towards the glorious beaches backed with pine trees, the word ‘paradise’ takes on meaning.

You can eat at a cafe in the trees or lay in the sun and watch the boats bobbing at anchor. You could even pass yourself off as a millionaire, since you have no clothes there will be no clue as to whether your transport is the luxury yacht or the bike leaning against the tree.
